A Walking Tour of Oakland Beach, Rhode Island (my hood - and I do mean hood).

Well I finally did it. I got a new digital camera and I took a walking tour of Oakland Beach so that you can see all the pleasurable sights in my little corner of the world. Sorry its been so long since I posted anything. Its been a helluva semester and I've been so busy I think my head did actually spin and at some point I know I threw up...But that's another story.

Oakland Beach has been going through a transition from old timer fisherman shacks to trendy bungalows. There are four gay households on my street if that tells you something. You know those gays when they start moving into an area...they like to plant and play with their lawns and fix up their houses.

The neighbor girls think I am something of an oddity. One of them told me the other day I'm like a woman because I'm constantly in the garden weeding, planting, and fussing with the lawn. I took that as a compliment. My house is a long way still from where I want it to be, but I can't do everything at once.

So here is my walking tour of Oakland Beach. Click on each picture to read the caption.
